BMW M3

BMW originally intended the BMW M3 to be a racing homologation model for touring cars. In 1986, the car was made available to the public. To meet Group A regulations, BMW had to make 5,000 road-legal copies of the car within twelve months of its production. It achieved this goal by increasing the performance of the car. Although this car is not a sports car, it is a powerful sports sedan.

BMW M4

The BMW M4 remains one of the most rare examples of an engine with an internal combustion engine coupled to a manual transmission. This car is a spiritual successor to the M1 supercar, old M3s and the 507 and 508 sports cars, which were all incredibly fast. However, like all BMW's other models, it is extremely usable. The M4 is a sporty car, with an excellent mix of performance & usability.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG German luxury car is sporty and aggressive. Two seats are placed along the long wheelbase to ensure optimal weight distribution and low center of gravity. The car is equipped with eight airbags - front, side, knee, and window. The SLS's brakes are powerful and impressive, with front brakes of fifteen inches, six-piston aluminum, and rear brakes of 14 inches.

FAQ

To work as an automotive mechanic, do I need a degree? Can I study part time?

A degree isn't necessary, but it certainly helps. Employers are more likely to hire candidates who have completed a complete degree. It shows that your efforts have been put in and you have succeeded.

You can still study while working, however. Some universities allow students the flexibility to finish coursework during summer vacations and resume their studies later in year. Other universities permit students to take classes part-time during the school year.

Is it really worth becoming a mechanic.

The answer to this question will depend on your goals for life. If you are looking for financial gain, then yes. However, if purpose and meaning are what you seek, then no.

It's not worth learning mechanics if you don’t have the skills. You'll waste your time. It will not make you rich. It will not make you famous. You won't be famous.

You'd need to spend years learning how everything works. Then you'd still have to pay someone else to fix your car when it breaks down. That's why most people don't bother doing it at all. They find something else to do.

Let's sum it up: If you want to make a lot of money, then do so. But if you want to live a meaningful life, stay away from the mechanic's industry.

How To

How to properly diagnose your car for repair

To determine if your car needs repairs, you should first look at the symptoms that your car presents. You can then follow these steps for a proper diagnosis of your vehicle.

  1. Check engine lights. The dashboard light indicators, including the engine light, oil pressure gauge, battery light indicator, coolant temperature gauge and RPM gauge, should be checked. If any of them have been flashing for several days, it may mean something is wrong with your vehicle.
  2. Examine the treads of the tires. Tires with worn treads could cause problems when handling or braking. You should also inspect the wheel treads. They should look clean and be smooth. The best way to do this is to remove the wheels and take them off. Use a flashlight to see how well the treads are worn.
  3. You should always monitor the level brake fluid. Keep track of the brake fluid level in your vehicle. This will ensure your brakes function properly. If your brake fluid level is low they might not work properly when you apply pressure.
  4. Test the suspension system. It is common for vehicles to have a suspension system which absorbs shocks or vibrations. It allows for better control, smooth acceleration, and deceleration. If your vehicle has a suspension problem, it might feel wobbly or shake uncontrollably. You can test if your vehicle has a suspension problem by putting weight on either the front or back axle to see how it moves.
  5. Examine the steering column. Steering columns connect the steering wheels to other parts of the vehicle. Accidents often damage steering columns. It is recommended to replace any steering column that feels loose, or shakey.
  6. Observe the exhaust pipe. The exhaust pipes transport gases from the combustion chamber to outside. If the exhaust pipe is damaged or leaks, harmful fumes can enter your cabin. Additionally, your tailpipe should be fixed immediately if it is bent.
  7. Take a look at the underside of your hood. Look underneath your hood to see if anything looks strange. You could have fluids leaking from the engine. Also, professional technicians should be called if you detect an unusual smell coming out of your engine compartment.
  8. The air filter should be checked. The outside environment collects dust and other particles in the vehicle's filter. A dirty filter can lead to a poor vehicle's performance. Replace your air filter regularly.
  9. The fan belt should be checked. The fan belt that connects your vehicle to the transmission is called the engine fan belt. If the fan belt is damaged, the engine won’t turn. It is easy to replace the belt. All you need is a screwdriver and some pliers.
  10. You should inspect the radiator and hoses. The radiator hose is used to carry water from the radiator to your engine. It can become cracked or damaged and leak hot liquid onto your engine. To repair the hose, you will only need to use a pair needle-nosepliers and a wire brush.
  11. The windshield wipers should be checked. Windshield wipers use electricity to remove snow and rain. They can leave streaks on your windows glass if they stop working. Change the washer fluid to fix the problem.
  12. You should inspect the cables. The battery cables provide power for the electrical systems in your car. When you replace batteries, make sure to disconnect the negative cable first. Failure to do so can damage your alternator.
  13. Make sure your headlights are working properly. Headlights are used to illuminate the road ahead. It can lead to poor visibility if they aren't working properly. To check if the bulbs have gone out, you can inspect them.
  14. Make sure you have your lights on. The lights are there to warn other drivers if they approach you at night. If one doesn't work, it could distract you and lead to an accident.
  15. Make sure you check your brakes. Before you collide with another vehicle, brakes will slow down the car. You may lose control of your vehicle and crash if the brakes don't function properly.
  16. Change the oil. Your engine will stay lubricated by the oil. It helps keep metal parts from getting too worn down. It is recommended that the oil be changed every other month.
